Updates
on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS2005)
Dear friends &
colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I would like to invite you to the
symposium on “Updates on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome” which will be held in
Hong Kong on 20 March 2005.
Polycystic ovary
syndrome encompasses a broad spectrum of symptoms and signs of ovarian
dysfunction. Last year, a new set of guidelines for the diagnosis of the
syndrome was concluded at a joint meeting of the European Society for
Human Reproduction (ESHRE) and the American Society of Reproductive
Medicine (ASRM). The objective of this symposium is to update participants
on these guidelines and their impact on our diagnosis and treatment of
polycystic ovary syndrome. It is also the wish of this symposium to bring
in world renowned experts in this field as well as those in the region to
discuss the applicability of these guidelines on Asian population, whose
presentation of the syndrome could be different from that of the Caucasian
population.
