As AOFOG approaches its 50th year of existence, it stands committed as ever to improve women’s health throughout the region.

EDUCATION remains the main thrust of the Federation. AOFOG’s recent seminar-workshops have centered on safe motherhood and reducing maternal deaths due to Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH).

But AOFOG continues to hold workshops General  Obstetrics and Gynaecology  and Gynaecology, Ultrasound, Endoscopy,  Urogynaecology and Oncology  in the  different  member  countries of the Federation.

To keep up with its educational goals, the AOFOG launches its 50th Anniversary project, the AOFOG Educational Fund which will run for two years (January 2007 - January 2008) and the target is to generate a US$1,000.000.00 fund.

The Educational fund will be used to conduct more workshops and seminars throughout the region and, by doing so, the AOFOG aims to:

             *    Reduce maternal deaths by 25% in 2015,

             *    Reduce cancer of the cervix through HPV vaccination and

             *    Improve women’s access to health care

The   names   of  all  donors   will  be   listed   under  an

"electronic time capsule"

in appreciation of the donation given.
